Symptomatic Care
Hot showers and baths
Nasal saline drops such as “Ayr” or “Little Noses” with bulb suction as needed
Cool mist (vaporizer or humidifier)
Encourage fluids
Elevate the head of the bed

Daytime Medications for congestion and cough
Robitussin plain
Triaminic yellow
Robitussin PE

Naps and Bedtime Medication
Robitussin DM
Triaminic purple night relief
Dimetapp DM

Dosing for above medication given every 6 hours or less:

6-12 MONTHS 1/3 TSP OR 2CC
12 MONTHS TO 2 YEARS ½ TO ¾ TSP OR 2.5-3.5 CC
2 YEARS TO 5 YEARS 1 TSP OR 5CC
OVER 6 YEARS 1 AND ½ TSP OR 7.5 CC

Allergy Symptoms (Sneezing, Itchy eyes or Nose, Copious Clear Rhinitis - Runny Nose)
Benadryl allergy
Triaminic orange
Claritin (prescription)
Zyrtec (prescription)
Tylenol / Advi l /Motrin
